PRA appoints Therapeutic expert for Psychiatry

Earlier today, PRA International announced that it appointed Dr. Frederick T. Lewis, D.O. as the Vice President of Psychiatry Scientific Affairs. Dr. Lewis has been added to the Therapeutic Expertise Group of the leading CRO. He will provide leadership to clients as well as medical and scientific support to PRA project teams through all aspects of clinical drug development process.

Vice President and head of PRA’s Scientific Affairs department, Dr. Michael Kirchengast, said: “Dr. Lewis’s exceptional background in psychiatry and broad-ranging industry experience make him an ideal fit for our Therapeutic Expertise group. Adding Fred to our team of experts strengthens our ability to provide comprehensive strategic consultancy for our clients’ projects.”

Dr. Lewis joins PRA with over 20 years of research and professional experience in psychiatry. He is a graduate from the Pennsylvania State University and the Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been a recipient of multiple fellowships during his post-residency experience. Dr. Lewis was the chairperson at the psychiatry department of the Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine between 1996 and 2003, where he presently maintains an appointment as an associate professor.

Dr. Lewis has been credited and honored with several awards including The President’s Award for Research by Nova Southeastern University. Having founded the CNS Clinical Research, Inc., he has been on the consultancy as well as scientific advisory board for many pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Lewis has participated in several international clinical trials in the capacity of an investigator, and has published extensively in the area of psychopharmacology.
