Medical Marijuana Bill Signed by Seattle Mayor

The sanctioning of a bill for the regulation of medical marijuana called for a signing ceremony between Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn with city attorney and other officials.
According to the bill passed by the city council on July 18, medical marijuana operations must be licensed, food-handling permits must be obtained if marijuana cookies are traded, and all other regulations such as land use codes must be followed.
This move is contradictory with rules enforced on the cessation of such operations in several other cities in Washington.
Ever since Gov. Chris Gregoire vetoed a bill that would have created a system of licensed medical marijuana dispensaries, medical marijuana regulations have been vague. She left in sections allowing collective medical marijuana operations.
